Trade Unions for a Fair Recovery

The project entitled ‘Trade Unions for a Fair Recovery: Strengthening the Role of Trade Unions in Mitigating the Impact of the COVID-19 crisis’ was implemented at European level with coordination from the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) and financial support from the European Union.

As part of the project, the national affiliates of the ETUC, one of them being the UATUC, implemented a series of planned activities including those carried out in cooperation with their own affiliated trade unions.
The planned activities of the UATUC were directed towards three priorities: organising and representing workers in the digital age; better communication with members and shop stewards; and building capacity for collective bargaining and social dialogue.
The project was implemented from 1 January 2022 to 31 March 2023 and the total value of the planned UATUC activities amounted to EUR 125,977.53, of which 95 per cent were EU funds and five per cent own contributions.

TAKE MATTERS INTO YOUR OWN HANDS

Only when organised in a union can workers collectively bargain with the employer about their wages and working conditions and organise strike action if they cannot agree with the employer on these issues.
