Health system

The UATUC advocates health care policy the purpose of which is the improvement of the health status of citizens, and this can be ensured only through strong and efficient public health care based on social solidarity and humane values of equality, dignity and professional ethics. We find unacceptable the division of population to those who will have higher health care rights only because they can buy them, and to the majority of those whose right to health will be significantly reduced or denied.

Past series of partial reforms should hence be replaced by a comprehensive health care system reform, based on the strengthening of public health care and stopping the commercialization of health services. Emphasis should be placed on strengthening the preventive medicine, wide accessibility of health care services for all citizens, regardless of their social status and place of living, improvement of primary health care and development of public health care which will be able to attract, and keep, top experts.
